Accreditation Status

The government of the U.S. Virgin Islands has approved and authorized Therapon
University to issue degrees including, but not limited to, theology, business, and
education.  Therapon University’s accreditation is with the American Accrediting Association of
Theological Institutions (A.A.A.T.I.) and Theological Accreditation International
(T.A.I.). These are religious accreditations, rather than secular and voluntary, rather than
mandatory.

Accreditation that is held by Therapon University is a religious, non-governmental accreditation that will be recognized by the Body of Christ and many other Biblical / religious based organizations at their own free will.

The agencies monitor educational and religious standards for Bible colleges,
and their accreditation is accepted by many religious organizations. However, this
accreditation would not be accepted by some secular organizations, as A.A.A.T.I. and
T.A.I are not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the seven official
regional accrediting agencies. They are also not recognized by SAQA in the Republic of
South Africa. This non-recognition may have some implications that include, but are not
limited to:

  1. Therapon University students are not eligible to participate in the U.S. Federal
    Student Loan/Financial Aid program.

  2. Therapon University is not authorized to accept the U.S. GI Bill for tuition.

  3. Therapon University is unable to guarantee acceptance of its degrees in other
postsecondary institutions, except those also accredited by A.A.A.T.I. or T.A.I.

  4. Corporations are not required to recognize degrees from Therapon University.

  5. Therapon University is unable to guarantee acceptance of its degrees for employment
    or licensure.

Outside of the United States of America, Therapon University holds No accreditations. Therapon University, being a Christian Institution, has chosen to have religious accreditation in the USA, rather than governmental accreditations. Because of this fact, secular universities will not recognize qualifications from Therapon University in other countries.

To reach a decision concerning our school, you should determine your ultimate goal in seeking a degree. Our mission is to train born-again believers to serve the Lord in some phase of ministry. If you are seeking additional education to increase your ministry potential, our school will be an excellent choice.

The student acknowledges that he / she is aware of the fact that Therapon University holds no Accreditation outside of the USA and that any qualification that they obtain from Therapon University will not be recognized by other secular universities in other countries. The student furthermore acknowledges that he / she enrolls as an online distance student in the USVI and agrees to the terms and conditions of Therapon University in USA.
